Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Scholarship Program

SWE Scholarships support those who identify as a woman and pursue an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)-accredited bachelor or graduate student program (mostly in the United States of America) in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology, and fields related to engineering globally.
For all SWE scholarships, applicants complete one application and are considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible.
You do not have to be a member of SWE to be eligible for SWE scholarships. However, some of the scholarships do require SWE membership.
SWE Scholarships are open to all candidates who identify as a woman.
If you are a graduate student (e.g., Masters, PhD candidates) you must be enrolled or accepted at a school with an associated ABET-accredited undergraduate programs in engineering, computing, or technology.
What if I am a student outside the United States?
For the ABET scholarships, students outside of the United States studying or planning to study a ABET-accredited program are welcome to apply for SWE scholarships. The organizers also accept ABET-accredited schools outside of the United States for some of their scholarships.
If you are a student outside of the United States studying at a program within the United States, please select the respective state and school in your application. If you are a student outside of the United States or will be studying at a program outside of the United States, please select the respective country and school in your application.
2024-2025 Academic Year Scholarship Application Periods:
ABET Upper-class (rising sophomore, junior, senior undergraduates, and all graduate students): 1 December 2023 – Wednesday 31 January 2024 5 pm CT / 18:00 Colombian time
ABET Incoming Freshmen (any incoming first year students): 2 February 2024 – Sunday 31 March 2024 5 pm CT / 17:00 Colombian time
